This position begins in Taipei in September 2023. The school year in Taiwan is similar to the Canadian school year, with two semesters of approximately 20 weeks each and extended vacation time at Christmas, Lunar New Year, and the summer.

Using an existing curriculum, the teacher will provide instruction to Grades 7-9 ESL students in a modern, well-resourced Taiwanese middle school. They will assist in the implementation of daily lesson plans, establish classroom routines and study schedules for students, ensure that classroom safety and security is always maintained, and participate in on-going professional development sponsored both by CINEC administration and the International Director of the Taipei school.

In-class instructional time will not exceed 25 hours per week. Though 2023-2024 timetabling is not yet completed, the teacher can expect 8 classes per week for each of Grades 7, 8, and 9. The teacher will be responsible to participate fully in the reporting and conferencing requirements of the school each semester. There will be required office hours, in which the teacher will maintain communication with the on-site International Director and CINEC administration.
