Hi! My name is Tamhas. I am from Australia. I have a Master's degree and, by early December, a TEFL certificate. I grew up speaking English. I have 3 years English teaching experience. I also speak fluent Chinese and some German. So I understand how hard it can be to learn a foreign language. That’s why I am always looking for ways to make it as easy as possible for you. Do you want your students to improve quickly? Then they must practice conversation with words and phrases they will remember. That means talking about things they want to talk about. Because the words that they use, are the words they will remember. Do your students need to learn business English? I have ten years experience in executive search and finance, doing customer service, business negotiation, contracts, dealing with Chinese customers. So I know the vocabulary, in English and Chinese. Are your students having trouble with pronunciation? I have special methods to help them improve. They know the right sounds already. They all exist in Chinese. I can tell your students where they are. Do your students struggle with making sentences for conversation? I have ways to help them, such as using hand movements when practicing conversation. Combining physical movements with phrase repetition helps bind words to actions in students' minds, making them easier to recall. I understand that speaking can be difficult, even for people who can read and listen already. But, repeating sentence structures while varying words can help. Saying something they want to say or something funny can also help. For advanced learners, we can practice talking or edit a piece of your writing together. This helps us to look at where your students can improve. I have learned Chinese, and I am learning German. I know what makes learning hard ... and what helps! Besides helping your students speak better, I can also help you practise reading more smoothly. I can show you how to speak more slowly and clearly, with better expression.
