I am a well-motivated, enthusiastic teacher who gets on well with students and colleagues from different cultures. I am healthy, energetic and work well, both independently and as a team member. I am committed to comprehensive learner development and academic achievement. In my view, teaching never fails to provide new challenges and experiences to benefit the students. All of my training and earlier experience has been as a classroom-based teacher (BA; BEd and MEd), until I switched gears and worked as an ESL teacher, including to Special Needs students, from 2001 till I retired in November 2020. Teaching allows me to support students of all ages with exploring their own abilities and developing their skills. I delight in guiding them towards competency and confidence with a view to the tasks and challenges they might encounter in the workplace in future (DSoSci). I have taught in South Africa, Oman and Saudi Arabia, in schools, community colleges and universities. I would like to explore new cultures through any suitable teaching position.
