Hello! My name is Paul. I am originally from the United States where I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing Management, a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Music, and my TEFL/TESOL certification for English. Prior to teaching English, I managed product development and marketing for various international consumer goods companies. This is where I first discovered my love for foreign culture. For the past 22 months, I have had the opportunity to teach a diverse group of middle school students while abroad in Chiang Mai, Thailand. As a result, I have developed phenomenal communication, interpersonal, time management, and leadership skills. Furthermore, I have become proficient in developing comprehensive lesson plans; creating stimulating thematic units; and assessing the needs of individuals and the class as a whole. My teaching style is dynamic and engaging, yet flexible in responding to the students’ constantly evolving needs. I also utilize a blended learning approach to give my students more independence in controlling the pace and location of their individual learning. One of my greatest strengths as an educator is instilling confidence and pride in my students. I accomplish this by fostering a safe, judgement-free learning environment where each student feels valued and cared for. This method helps me connect with each student, facilitate their unique learning styles, and foster a sense of belonging.
