I believe the biggest and greatest part of education is a quote phrased by John Dewey that said “Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself” and due to this statement it is of relevance mentioning that anyone can learn anywhere so anyone can teach anywhere. My love for teaching started in 2015 when I went as a gap student to England and worked at a school in Maidstone, Kent, called Sutton Valence. It was my duty to coach rugby, soccer and cricket as well as taking certain grades for Physical Education lessons and help assist in some of the boarding school duties. It was during this time I realized I would love to work with kids and become a teacher. Since then I have been back home in South Africa from 2016 till now, working my way to finish my teaching degree in hopes that it will lead my down a road of great purpose working with kids. I have worked at Kings College school from 2017-2018 where I was an intern, physical education teacher and coach during the interim and then at the beginning of 2019 up until now, I have been working at Scienza Academy Tutor Centre where I am fully responsible for teaching grade 10-12 Business Studies, Grade 10-12 Life Orientation and grade 7-9 Geography. The school syllabus all lies on the same qualifications as the South African government school CAPS curriculum. It has been a busy past few years with my own studies, lesson preparation, external coaching as well as being responsible for my Scienza Students whom I teach, however it has all be worth it because it is a passion that is driving me. My extensive interest in teaching English abroad grew since I was abroad in England and since then, I knew that taking my passion of teaching and working with kids was the right way for me to go about the next year of my life! I am excited to learn about the foreign Asian culture, the traditions and exploring the beautiful country for what it is but most importantly, to share my knowledge of teachings and experience with others; have others teach me their knowledge and experience and improve on expanding my own knowledge and experience to make me a better, more diverse teacher to have an impact on the future generations of our world.
