My name is Mercy Tebu, a native English speaker with 8 years of teaching experience. I completed Catholic University College of Ghana with a degree in BSc in Banking and Finance. I contributed my quota to the university by joining an AIESEC organization where I volunteered to teach other students who needed help. After completing the University, I served my country for one year at the National Health Insurance Scheme where I used to register registrants who needed to ensure their cards. With a zeal for teaching, I applied through AIESEC to teach in a French-speaking country called Cote D’lvoire where I taught English to non-English speakers. I taught university lecturers, workers, and students for some months. I developed a passion for teaching and applied to teach in Ecuador in the Southern part of America. I joined the program called TIME TO TEACH organized by the Ecuadorian ministry of education. I traveled to Ecuador to embark on my teaching carrier where I recently reside. Also, I partook in another program organized by the Ministry of Education in Colombia in a collaboration with a foundation called CUN where I taught English and assisted the Native English Teachers.
It is with great enthusiasm that I apply to be part of your program as an English teacher, which was advertised online. I believe I meet all the essential criteria for the role
and feel I can make an effective contribution to your team. I have a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Banking and Finance and have earned a CELTA certificate. I was part of a program where I taught in both Ecuador and Colombia as an
English teacher. During the program, I taught students by developing and presenting comprehensive and stimulating lesson plans that facilitates all learning style. I taught students to take the standardized test like
Cambridge, A2, B2, and IELT where students passed with distinction. . I researched,
located and incorporated a variety of resources to accommodate students through the visual, audio, and kinesthetic methods. I integrate excellent interpersonal relationship skills, tutorials, and technology to ensure that each student is able to comprehend and retain
the concepts and language. I assisted Ecuadorian and Colombian English teachers.
One of the reasons for becoming a teacher is to contribute to the younger ones in a meaningful way. Teaching is one of the most direct ways to make an impact and I am driven by the desire to help those around me, being a teacher is a vital contribution.
I have the potential to interact with students at all stages of development and from all walks of life. I want to help students along with this path and play a part in shaping the person they will ultimately become. I want to help a child struggling in learning a foreign language realize their potential. Being a teacher helps me to impact positive life lessons they will never forget.
