Good Day! I, Caren B. Santos, would like to apply for a teaching position at your esteemed institution. I graduated at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila as a Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education major in English. The years of education and training that I had spent under the wings of my Alma Matter enables me to develop love and dedication to my chosen profession. It taught me how to be flexible in terms of facing different situations in the teaching field and prepared me to indulge myself in lifelong learning. Given sufficient training during my college years, I am fully ready to share knowledge and facilitate students’ learning. With eagerness and skills, I hope to bring out the best in every student that I will meet and guide them to be the future that their generation needs. Equipped with skills and passion to teach, I have explored the field with great enthusiasm as I had my first year of teaching in a culturally-diverse private institution (Chiang Kai Shek College). I experienced handling Grade 6 students, teaching both Reading and Language. I also had the chance to train students for contests such as storytelling and essay writing. I’m currently teaching at the O. B. Montessori center, handling Grade 3 students. The nature of my current job allows me to explore the Montessori system well. Along with my current activities, I am also focusing on my professional growth as a teacher. I’ve been taking up Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) that broaden my knowledge of English and how to teach the subject matter.
