My name is Amy Ibanez and I'm applying for the role of an English Teacher. I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 2015, and acquired my Secondary Education major in Social Studies in 2021 and I am a Licensed Professional Teacher here in the Philippines. I worked as a classroom teacher in one of the private schools here in my country for 1 year. In addition, I worked in an Aviation training Consultancy in Dubai, UAE from 2015-2020 dealing with students with different nationalities and diverse backgrounds. One of the many skills that make me qualified for this position is my love for kids. I've been interested in teaching kids since I was still young and have been pursuing that dream since then. Because of that desire, I volunteered as a kid’s teacher when I was still working in Dubai for about 3 years. I used my spare time to teach kids for free because I get a great sense of achievement from seeing them develop and grow as an individual. My responsibilities were the following; I studied the lesson ahead of time and gathered available resources online to include in the discussion, I prepared interactive indoor and outdoor activities related to the discussion in order to maintain their excitement to learn, I prepared all the resources/ props needed before and during the activity period and most importantly, I always make sure to assess their learnings and follow up to their needs. And for me, that was the most fulfilling decision I ever made. My teaching philosophy is based on providing a safe and nurturing learning environment that encourages my students to think outside the box and to practice their creativity. With experience teaching with both the preschoolers, toddlers and high school levels, I believe that it is important to use a student-centered approach. I also learned to use different learning methods in order to meet the needs of my learners.
