I am Angela De Leon, 27 years old, a licensed professional teacher here in the Philippines. In 2017, I graduated at Bataan Peninsula State University with a Bachelor of Secondary Education, Major in Mathematics. That same year, I passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers and started teaching at La Paz National High School, a public school under the Department of Education. For nearly seven years, I have dedicated myself to teaching senior high school students, where I have taught various subjects including not only Mathematics but English subjects such as Oral Communication and Reading and Writing. Since 2019, I have also served as the school’s ICT coordinator, leading the implementation of innovative teaching methods such as blended learning, assessment tools and gamification to significantly enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. During the period spanning from 2020 to 2022, when face-to-face classes were disrupted due to the pandemic, I played a crucial role as the school’s ICT coordinator. I contributed significantly to our school’s radio broadcast instructional efforts, ensuring continuous learning for students. Additionally, I engaged in part-time online ESL teaching at 51Talk for a year, where I discovered my passion for teaching young learners and developed effective strategies to enhance their learning experience and language skills. In Taiwan, I am eager to bring my diverse teaching experience and innovative approach to education. My experience and enthusiasm for ESL teaching, coupled with my background as an ICT coordinator has equipped me with advanced technological skills that I intend to integrate into my teaching methods. Moreover, my dedication to professional growth and cross-cultural understanding aligns perfectly with Taiwan's educational goals. By continuing my studies and immersing myself in Taiwanese culture, I aim to further enhance my teaching effectiveness and make a positive impact to your students and the educational community. As part of my commitment to Taiwan's goal to be bilingual by 2030, I am dedicated to contributing to this initiative through my teaching and professional endeavors.
