My name is Glaidel Marie C. Piol, and I wanted to take a moment to share a bit introduction about myself. I am a 26-year-old Filipino citizen and hail from Sangalang Lemery, Batangas, Philippines, For almost the past 5 years, I’ve been passionate about teaching elementary pupils. This passion led me to pursue Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Technology and Livelihood Education where I’ve had the privilege of working as a permanent elementary teacher in a public school here in the Philippines. For the past 5 years in the teaching service, I have experienced a lot of scenarios with pupils who are struggling with reading—even a single part of the alphabet they don’t know how to read. I must say that it became a blessing and an opportunity for me because I was assigned to be the teacher in charge of dealing with those pupils for almost half a year. One of the key reasons why I am drawn to the Program is the opportunity to immerse myself in a new cultural setting. I am confident that living and working in Taiwan will not only broaden my cultural perspectives but also allow me to discover and bring a unique perspective to the classroom. I am committed to embracing the Taiwanese culture, fostering mutual understanding, and creating an enriching experience for both myself, my students, and my colleagues.
