My name is Glaidel Marie C. Piol, a 27-year-old Filipino citizen from Sangalang, Lemery, Batangas, Philippines. For six years, I have been deeply passionate about teaching elementary pupils, a commitment that inspired me to pursue a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Technology and Livelihood Education. Currently, I serve as a permanent elementary teacher in a public school here in the Philippines. Over the past six years in the teaching profession, I have encountered a wide range of learning challenges among my students, particularly in reading. I was allowed to work closely with pupils who struggled even with basic literacy, including recognizing letters of the alphabet. This experience, though challenging, proved to be incredibly rewarding and allowed me to grow both personally and professionally as I took charge of their learning progress for nearly half a year. One of the primary reasons I am interested in the program is the opportunity to immerse myself in a new cultural environment. I am confident that living and working in Taiwan will not only expand my cultural horizons but also enable me to bring a unique and valuable perspective to the classroom. I am fully committed to embracing Taiwanese culture, promoting mutual understanding, and contributing to an enriching and meaningful exchange for my students, colleagues, and myself.
