Good day! My name is Shellamae Casol Sega, an English teacher with 8 years of teaching experience. I am currently teaching at Western Mindanao State University in Zamboanga Sibugay, Philippines as an English Language Arts teacher. I want to express my interest to apply as a teacher in your school. I graduated with a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English at Western Mindanao State University in Zamboanga City, Philippines last April 7, 2016. I pursued a Master of Arts in Education major in English at Saint Columban College in Pagadian City, Philippines and graduated last December 22, 2022, with 43 academic units. I provide the highest quality of education to students through effective and engaging teaching strategies and technology to adapt to the needs of 21st century learners. I make sure my students have a meaningful learning experience by providing varied opportunities to explore and improve their English communication skills both in written and oral language. I love to do actual presentations like drama and poetry to help my students improve their confidence in using the English language. As an English teacher, my educational philosophy is grounded in the belief that language and literature are powerful tools for personal and societal growth. I am dedicated to cultivating a love for language, fostering critical thinking, and nurturing the creativity and empathy that literature inspires. Through the study of English, I aim to empower students to become effective communicators, critical readers, and lifelong learners. I model exemplary practice in the application of content knowledge and pedagogy showing its integration within and across learning areas and conduct in-depth studies or action research on teaching-learning innovations. I also work with colleagues to create a learning-focused environment that promotes responsibility and high achievement. I believe in the transformative power of literature to cultivate critical thinking. My approach involves guiding students to analyze texts, question assumptions, and explore different perspectives. Critical literacy extends beyond comprehension; it encourages students to become discerning readers who engage with the world thoughtfully. I am a team player.
