Hello! I’m Ethel Grace Malilay, a dedicated Construction Administration Specialist by day in a Japanese firm in the Philippines and an enthusiastic Online ESL Teacher by night.
In my morning role, I handle the administrative and coordination aspects of construction projects—ensuring efficiency, organization, and clear communication between teams. My work has strengthened my attention to detail, problem-solving, and time management skills.
In the evening, I shift into my second passion—teaching English online with 51Talk. I specialize in working with young Chinese learners aged 2 to 14, and occasionally adults, in a one-on-one virtual classroom setting. My lessons focus on building essential English skills—listening, speaking, pronunciation, and vocabulary—through interactive and age-appropriate activities.
I love creating a fun, supportive, and engaging learning environment, using TPR (Total Physical Response), props, songs, and expressive teaching techniques to make English learning enjoyable and effective. I also adapt my pace and teaching style to match each student’s level and personality, helping them build confidence and develop a genuine interest in learning English.
Through these dual roles, I’ve developed a unique combination of organization, communication, and people skills—balancing the precision required in construction administration with the creativity and empathy essential in teaching.
